I know this has probably been touched on before, but the whole 'never fly something you can't afford' to lose thing is not just an axiom in this game. It's pretty much the first law of EVE. Had you kept your ship choice more modest then the loss would not have put you in so much of a bind. A beat up truck would have done the job, but instead you went with the sports car with spinning rims and ground lighting... and then someone jacked it. This sucks, but it's also the nature of the game. Grab a couple beers, kick back and let the anger flow out of you. Take the good bits of advice that have been proffered and think on em. Fit up another ship that's more affordable and get yourself back on your feet. Your position is not untenable. Recovery is always possible. Life under wardec isn't the end of the world either, many of us here operate under multiple wardecs continuously... you just need to learn to adapt to it.

I think I've bitten my tongue so many times reading this thread that if I remain silent any more I shall indeed bite it off.
EVE is not perfect, it's just a great deal better than what passes for alternatives out there. In fact many forum dwellers spend an immense amount of time griping about various aspects of it. Yes, it has shortcomings, but on the other hand you have a dedicated playerbase who has hung in there with it for over 11 years now. There is a reason for this: no competitor comes even close to having what EVE has to offer in terms of freedom.
You were not forced to do anything. There were methods of getting what you wanted that did not involve grinding anything. Jump Clone service corps exist for people exactly like you. You made a poorly informed choice and got burned. The fact that you did so in a ship that you obviously could not afford to replace was also your choice. The corp you associated with who didn't give you any good advice or real support? Also your choice. Coming to the forums to gripe about it... you got it, your choice.
None of this is on EVE. This tattered mess is of your own creation. What you do with it from here is also your choice. If you stay and learn and grow from this that's one choice. You can also choose to stamp your feet and rage at the unfairness of the world and summarily quit.
Up to you.

Other forms of PvP? You could try: Mission Flipping Hunting explorers Faction Warfare Lowsec piracy Wormhole invasions Miner/hauler ganking I'm sure there are others, those are just the ones that come to mind right now.
As far as your former corp is concerned though you have to keep what's good for you at the foremost. Sure they may have frowned on the notion, but if you are being put into a position that's not tenable by them then that's a matter that needs to be addressed.
As far as the community goes, if you're posting in GD or C&P you need a thick skin and a healthy sense of humor. Without those your forum tank is going to be paper thin. Worse, if it becomes readily apparent that you're easily goaded into anger then you make yourself a target for the trolls. Spewing vitriol indiscriminately is also a good way to meet some very interesting people in the game. Usually by surprise.

I deal primarily in high sec mission flipping honestly. There are others who are more knowledgeable than I when it comes to low sec. I'd recommend giving The Pirate Stories thread a good read as a starter though.

Confirming, he'll fight. We just crossed paths a bit ago. Honestly I hope you don't give up on this game. It seems a portion of your pissed off self has the right idea. Once you get past the whole loss thing it gets to be a great deal more fun. And yes, frigates can be a blast. Get used to losing them and you get closer to discovering the true joy of the game.
Edit: And for the love of all that is unholy, do NOT listen to a word Veers tells you. He's a beary bear to the heart and wants us all grinding endlessly for isk in pursuit of what he considers to be fun. His paradise is not a game, it's a second job.

I think bad corp was the real problem here. Not willing to help and objecting to him helping himself. To make them happy he had to remain sad. To make him happy he had to make them sad. Tried while under wardec and ended up with nobody happy. Well, except the marmite guy who popped him, I'm sure he was very happy.

A slightly tipsy notion occurred to me. Your previous corp mistreated you badly. They put you in a bind and when you tried to fix it and got burned they dumped you in a heartbeat. You now know their habits and haunts. You know when they are and are not on. Why not dedicate your next few months to making their lives as miserable as possible? Stalk them in the night and give them the three finger surprise when they least expect it. Make it cost them far more to boot you than you ever lost.
